In my opinion, this is because good grades inspire students by giving them a positive hint that they can do well in this subject, which makes them confident. And considering the reputation and approval they can achieve through good grades, they will work harder to satisfy themselves. This is how the interest comes into being.
As time went by,I found not only good grades, but relationship can stimulate interest for learning a subject. For instance, one of my friends once fell in love with a girl in my class.Like many movie plots, she was so good at English while he hated it.However, with strong desire to caught that girl's eyes, the boy became crazy about everything to do with English. And at the end of that term,he stunned all of us by getting the highest grades.I won't tell the ending because the story is still going on.But from it, I learned that interest really can be aroused by love.
In fact, besides good grades and relationship, interest can be inspired by many other factors. And I'm waiting to find them in the future.
Yes, there are both intrinsic and extrinsic factors which can spark an interest in a subject. What is more important is the intention behind why you are learning the subject.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, usually interest result in good grades. However, I also agree with your idea that good grades can have influence on interest. Maybe these two things affect with each other.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.In high school, there are so many times I feel bored by the endless test. But when I find if I do well in them, I will be praised and not looked down, I am energetic again. Sometimes extrinsic factors influence us a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou language goes fluently. And you sentencial forms are disparate, making you paragraph very lively. I think good grades inspire people because they give people a sense of achievement.
ReplyDeletehaha, the second reason really makes sense in many high schools, maybe because love and interest both require stable patience. And I think we need to converse interest to motivation.
