Reading books

Reading books is a good learning strategy. And I benefit a lot from it.
For example, today I read an essay about proverbs and idioms. In the first paragraph, it gives a clear explanation to the differences between proverbs and idioms. In the past, I thought proverb and idiom refer to the same thing. After reading this essay, I know that I am wrong. And then the essay introduces several useful idioms or proverbs, for instance, saved by the bell, bury the hatch and so on. But until now, I still do not know how to use the idiom----shed crocodile tears. I will be grateful if you can give me an example sentence.
What’s more, after reading this essay, I come to realize that English can also be interesting like Chinese and everyone should form the beneficial habit of reading books.
