Are zoos good for animals
Because human beings develop their technology and expend their space, wild space is becoming smaller and smaller. Animals are distinct in a very fast speed. Some people say that zoos can help to protect the endangered animals. But it cannot solve the problem thoroughly. Animals should live in the wild, not in cages. Zoos limit the freedom of animals and let the animals loss their survival skills. For this reason, animals will not be able to go back to the wild. Though some of the endangered animals are protected, it makes little sense to the whole.
Besides, there are some people use zoos to earn money deviously. For example, once I saw a video about a zoo in China. Near the zoo there was a restaurant, where people could buy tiger meat. We all know it is illegal to eat tiger, but where the tigers from. Journalist found that the tigers were offered by the zoo. Workers in the zoo maltreat the tigers and did not give them food, so that the tigers would die quickly. As a result, they can sell them for their own profit. This is so cruel for the tigers.
The best way to protect animals is to increase people’s awareness about protecting the natural environment, then animals can be really protected.
Just like we always say: each coin has two sides. On the one hand, zoos can provide animals with sufficient food and safe habitats. However, on the other hand, zoos lock the animals in the limited cages and take away their freedom. It is quite difficult to judge whether zoos are good or not for animals.
ReplyDelete"Each coin has two sides" shows again!
ReplyDeleteI also don't think zoos can be a solution to conservation. I think the best way for human beings to protest nature is to let it alone, instead of interfering all the time.
Terrible! These people must loss their mind to do such an inhuman thing and animal-protecting education is urgent for China. Besides, Chinese local government do need to do a better job since most of these cases are due to the ineffective inspection. However, I still think zoos are necessary for saving endangered species and public education, although finding a balance between protecting and imprisoning animals is hard.
ReplyDeletei agree with Zu Tianqi. I think Human is alos a part of nature and the effects of human' activities is part of natural selection. We should not inferece
ReplyDeletetotally right, i think most of animals are supposed to stay in the wild where they could feel natural and most comfortable. as for those endangered animals such like panda, personally i think setting the conservation is good enough. anyway, i completely oppose the zoos that just put some animals for visitors to make profit. if animals could have spoken human languages, they would have revolted.
