In the world there are always wars and conflicts and there is no doubt that the main reason to these unharmonious things is the misunderstanding of different cultures and races.
We cannot imagine a world with only one country or one race. It is the diversity of the world that makes our life more colorful. We must hold on to the opinion that all human beings are born equal, just as Martin Luther King said. Talking about other races’ advantage or disadvantage makes no sense. Other people won’t respect you because you are a white man or you are from a royal family, instead you will get enough respect if you succeed with your own hands. So you must have a clear moral principle in your mind if you are living, working or communicating with different races of people. Never feel complacent, just show enough respect towards others’ habits or gestures and you will find you are respecting yourself at the meantime.
In the end, I wish we all can keep a tolerant heart and there is no discrimination in the world.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, discrimination exists almost everywhere in the world, and it is quite tough to get rid of it throroughly. However, all of us can do what we can do to make the world a better place to live. Changing ourselves instead of judging others is a good way.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your idea, all men in the world are equal. We should not be racism and blaming others’ religion or culture. And we should be open-minded toward the conflict between different races and countries, in your word, to be tolerant. But I am confused when you mentioned complacent, I cannot see any relevant between getting on well with people from other country and complacent. The issue is usually at the fringe or margine when cultures clash - there are many examples of such clashes. How do we or should we move from being tolerant to acceptance?
