Privacy and boundary

It is indeed a sensitive theme. I’m not going to focus on human rights which are bloody complex, so this blog involves the privacy and boundary. Chinese share a traditional belief that people should join together into a strong group, rather than stressing the importance of individual. The belief is considered as a kind of skill in order to survive in a competitive society. For this reason, privacy and boundary sounds a bit unfamiliar to Chinese.

With over 30 years’ transforming, some apparently changes have shifted people’s ground, especially youth’s. Currently, youth in China show a tendency that they value the privacy and proper boundary in lives more than their ancestor. Nevertheless, following the trend has been a task for all Chinese youth. Thus, it is a challenge for common Chinese to handle it well. I think the best way is to develop some specified rules or principles among our friends, and we can keep the traditional belief in the interaction with parents.

I believe Chinese youth can figure it out and transform China into a great land.

  1. with the development of the society , we emphasis on the the privacy much more and more, and i think it will be valued more seriously by the young generations. however, the reality is more complicated and it really need us to spare some efforts on it .

  2. I think the old Chinese are not aware enough on human right is just because that they did not get enough education in their young times. But now, young Chinese are getting more and more education than the old, as a result of which we are becoming much more aware of human rights. So I think things would get better with the development fo education in China.
